“Making surf films is like gardening in soil where some bastard’s been using roundup for decades – a challenging exercise but one that matters for those who care. I grew up watching great surf films, whether it was The Seedling or SaboTaj, they shaped the surfer I wanted to be and connected me with surf culture around the world. So, while there’s not a whole lot of fertiliser getting around, I’m fortunate that I have likeminded friends who also see value in creative pursuits longer than fifteen seconds… introducing the fruits of our labour, Petit Écrin, a short surf film I made featuring elegant French longboarder, Victoria Vergara, surfing Noosa’s crowded but still pristine point breaks. If you like longboarding, this one’s for you, so long as you don’t have the attention span of a gnat.

And as a side note, there are still lots of great examples of people and brands that continue to put time and energy into surf culture – huge respect to them.”

Wise words from legendary longboarder, and director of this short film – Monsieur Harrison Roach. Do Enjoy.
