After interviewing Erik for Volume V earlier this year. We couldn’t help but get him on board the film club.
Whilst a lot different from the somewhat art house choices of both Stefan and Sirus respectively, Erik’s selection proves a nice reminder of how Hollywood used to make blockbusters, before superheroes took over. Dive into some cult American classics courtesy of a living legend.
1) 48 Hrs – Walter Hill, 1982
One of my all time favorites. it’s kind of hilarious to think that my Mom and Dad took me to see this when i was like 7. Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. Need I say more.
2) Twelve Monkeys – Terry Gilliam, 1995
I’ve always liked this movie. Eerie, Cassandra complex, knowing something terrible is imminent and you can’t do anything about it.
3) Back To The Future – Robert Zemeckis, 1985
I started skating after watching this. One of the most influential movies of my youth.
4) Dirty Harry, Don Siegel, 1971
Clint Eastwood was my Dad’s favourite. I liked all of the Dirty Harry movies, I could also add all of Clint’s westerns to this list.
5) Goodfellas, Martin Scorsese, 1990
Cliche classic for obvious reasons.
