THURSDAY NIGHTS ON THE BIG SCREEN

Nothing beats the excitement of discovering a new surf film on the big screen.

And Thursday was a good reminder of that, as our good friends at Globe premiered the latest episode of Cult of Freedom: the New Zealand part. As the sun was setting over the Boudigau, we knew we weren’t the only ones hyped for Joe G’s new offering, as the 150 seats of the RIO’s cinema were occupied in no time, and we barely made it in for what ended up being the first screening of the night. And even with the high expectations of the first two episodes (The Australia and Taj’s parts) the latest opus of the series didn’t disappoint, and we highly recommend checking in tomorrow for its online release!

Once it finished the lights went dark again. And they came back flashing bright synced to a soundtrack that wouldn’t have felt out of place in Berlin’s darkest nightclubs. And here we were, laying our eyes on the first glimpses of Dion Agius’ new film. We won’t spoil much of it, but it’s truly an audiovisual trip to behold, and if you’re in the area it would be a real shame to miss its second screening at our official release party on Monday. There’ll be copies of our new print magazines, cold beers, as well as other short films from Chippa Wilson, Brendon Gibbens and Jay Davies as part of the LACERTILIA tour.

Come on by, it’ll be fun x
