Elijah needs no introduction. He’s one of the hardest working skaters of this generation. He called founder Austyn Gillette and made it clear this was where he wanted to be. His welcome marks the beginning of a new chapter at FORMER. He now joins Austyn Gillette, Jake Anderson and Myles Strampello on the FORMER skate team with his own full merch capsule that is currently in development for release next year.
“Ring ring, I look down and I see Elijah’s name on my phone. Within the first thirty seconds he dropped the small talk and asked if there was any room at Former. It wasn’t the call I was expecting and didn’t really have to give it much thought. I asked him what his goals were and what he wanted to do at the brand. All he said was the he wanted to skate his ass off and continue making video parts. He also said that he couldn’t imagine riding for anyone else, which was just the sentiment we wanted to hear. Everyone on the team up until this point clearly understands where we are at as a brand. We simply want to support our friends, support their visions, make films, travel the world and do whatever we want. I told him I would chat amongst the team and everyone else before getting back to him. Here we are two months later with a welcome section, a full Elijah collection in development for 2027 and a new member of the team that we are extremely proud to have along for the ride.
